L1049 Super Constellation VH-EAG CONNIE , ex-USAF , 54-157, was delivered to Qantas in 1955.

It was restored by the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society to air worthiness in 1996.

This aircraft, No.145925, was used  by the US Navy in the 1970's to map the earths magnetic field.

 My Dad, Junior Muscavitch, left Staten Island for Plymouth, England on this US Army Transport 10-6-44 and arrived 10-18-44 with 167 other ships on the Atlantic's greatest single convoy.            
  Converted from a prewar
Caribbean vacation cruise ship.
 
   
  Panama Line Steamships Go to War  by Doris Monaco, Tampa, FL.  Doris grew up in the Panama Canal Zone, where the city of Cristobal is located.
